Xiaomi finally launched its much anticipated flagship model Mi 10 smartphone. The specs are out on the Mi website and are impressive. Like any other model, the Pro version will also be out soon and the global link has its specs already.
Both Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. This means both the phones are no less powerful than each other. However, there are slight differences in the hardware setup.
The Mi 10 comes in two variants – The 8GB/128GB costs Rs. 49,999/- and the 8GB/256GB costs Rs. 54,999/-. Should we buy either of these two variants or will a Mi 10 Pro version be a good bet?
Before getting into what’s extra in the Pro version, here’s a quick list of technical that are common in both Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.

Mi 10 Vs Mi 10 Pro
RAM & Storage: The Mi 10 Pro will have only 8GB/256GB variant while the Mi 10 comes in two variants – 8GB/128GB & 8GB/256GB. There is no difference in RAM among the two models.
Rear Camera: While both the models have AI rear quad camera setup with 108MP ultra-clear primary sensor, the remaining three sensors differ.
The Mi 10 quad camera setup consists of 108MP ultra-clear primary sensor, 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro lens.
The Mi 10 Pro quad camera setup consists of a 108MP ultra-clear primary sensor, 8MP 10x hybrid zoom lens with optical image stabilization, 12MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom, and 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
There is a difference in the slow motion recording format as well – Mi 10 can record 120fps at 720P/1080P whereas the Pro version can record Slo-Mo at 960fps, 240fps and 120fps at 720P/1080P.
Rear camera photography features – Both Mi 10 and Pro versions have some premium photography features. The Pro version may have some extra features.
Rear camera videography features – Mi 10 Pro has 10 features including “portrait video, 960fps slow motion video & 960fps smart soundtrack pairing” which Mi 10 lacks and has fewer features.
Rear camera slow motion video – The Mi 10 Pro can record in more formats compared with Mi 10. Refer below list.

The Mi 10 is equipped with Dual 1216 super linear speaker, Dual smart PA high volume boost, 1.0cc equivalent large sound cavity design. The Mi 10 Pro boasts of “Dual dedicated audio speakers, 1216 super linear speaker and 1.2cc equivalent speaker chamber”.
Major difference in the battery segment
The Mi 10 is powered by a 4790 mAh battery and Mi 10 Pro has a 4500 mAh battery with slightly less number. But the Pro version supports 50W wired fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging and includes a 65W charger in the box which you don’t get to see in the non-Pro version.
However, both the models have in-built rechargeable batteries, USB Type-C reversible connector port and QC4.0+ /PD 3.0 quick charging protocol.
Mi 10 Pro has additional sensor
In the sensors department, the Mi 10 Pro has the “Laser auto-focus sensor” which the Mi 10 lacks. This is mostly useful in photography. Other common sensors are – proximity sensor, in-screen ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, hall effect sensor, linear motor, IR blaster, barometer, and flicker sensor.

While writing this post, the Mi 10 was available for pre-order in India with a price tag of Rs. 49,999/- and 54,999/-. The Mi 10 Pro price was not yet published but it is going to cost more than Mi 10 for sure. The price will be updated here soon once it is out.
