Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra First Impression

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is the third model in the series, the first two being Galaxy S20 and S20+. The Ultra is the latest and the biggest of all which is selling at INR 93000 for the 128 GB version.

Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

When you open the black box with S20 branding, the first thing you will come across is the sim ejector tool. Then comes the transparent case, UBC-C 25-watt charger, USB C to C connector, AKG branded wired earphones and of course the Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphone.

Most reviewers showed disappointment while they pulled out the 25-watt charger. The Galaxy S20 Ultra supports 45-watt charge and Samsung could have provided the 45-watt charger instead of 25-watt for the price they are asking for the phone.

If the consumer is willing to purchase the 45-watt charger, it costs Rs. 3800/- and that will be an additional charger at home.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 6.9” full “rectangle display” with rounded corners.  It incorporates the Dynamic AMOLED screen technology with HDR10+ certification for cinema grade color and contrast. Samsung claims it automatically reduces the harmful blue light emitted from the display which helps reduce eyestrain. It also helps lessen sleep disturbances if you are using your phone into the night. Those with the habit of using the phone extensively during the bedtime will understand this better.

And there is 120 Hz refresh rate for effortless scrolling and smooth screen transition. 120 Hz refresh rate means the display refreshes 120 times per second. You will enjoy this while playing your favorite games or scrolling through Facebook or Twitter feeds.

The phone has a capability of capturing excellent photographs in the lowlight conditions and it does so by capturing multiple photos at once and merges them into one with less blur and noise.

You will love the 8K video capability of the phone which is 4 times bigger than UHD and 16 times bigger than FHD. With the built in optical image stabilization, you can capture flawless videos on the move. The 8K video turns every frame into a high resolution still that you can pinch in for 33MP still.

RAM & Storage

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with the standard 12 GB RAM and 126 GB storage. If you use this phone to its full capacity, you may run out of space. But don’t worry, you can expand the storage to a whopping 1TB!

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 990 processor for the units sold in India. This processor boasts of a powerful octa-core CPU, a cutting-edge GPU, an advanced display and video subsystem that delivers unmatched performance to suit the next level smartphone. Well, this is what Samsung says. However, most reviewers believe the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 is much better.
